Talk about a dog poop out of luck! During a competitive run at the UK Crufts 2012 Inter-Regional Obedience Championships, this black dog, who is a cross-breed and 5 1/2 years old, gets off to a great start. The dog appears to be making quick time and has got some spry skills jumping and running and moving during this competition.

As the dog appears to near the end of the agility competition, he goes from full on run mode into full on stop mode. He squats and takes a dump, instantly disqualifying him from the competition. Poor thing, just need to poop, but there wasn’t a stoop. This dog may have lost a chance at a ribbon, but he reminds us all to live in the moments and not hold them for later – dog gone it!

The Crufts dog show has been around since 1891.

In addition to the DWTS cast reveal today, there was also the American Kennel Club’s reveal of America’s most popular dog breed. For the 21st year running, the adorable, loveable Labrador reigns in #1 position.

German Shepard stays steady at #2. But the little ole Yorkshire Terrier gets bumped from 3rd place to 5th by the Beagle. Golden retriever is #4.

Dog breeds breaking into the top tier include the rottweiler which is now placed in the top 10. The weenie dog Dachshunds moved from #8 to #9 and the Poodle went from #9 to #8.

The Bulldog is #6 and the Boxer is #7.

Did you know that it is a 30 year tradition that the winner of the Westminster Kennel Club dog show gets to celebrate his/her big win with dinner at one of New York’s most iconic restaurants and a Broadway institution, Sardi’s. Despite the health code rules that no pets are allowed in restaurants or eating establishments, the Best in Show dogs have been getting through the velvet ropes.

After Malachy’s win on Tuesday nite he ate at Sardi’s. Shortly thereafter apparently the Mayor said it was putting the kybash on this doggie exception. But that rule didn’t seem to stick. Shortly after an ammendment to the declaration was made that stated that each year, there would be a waiver, or pardon, if you will to allow this one-time annual dog eat meal at expensive restaurant event to take place.

We would like to know if the dog gets his own room, has a reserved table, dines among commoners, has a dress code and if they paw check in to 4square when they arrives.

You can dine at Sardi’s the next time you’re in New York City. Just leave your pet at home. Sardi’s is at 234 West 44th Street in the heart of the theater district Times Square area of NYC. It has been there since 1927. It is known for its decor of art caricatures of celebs on the walls and has had its share of movies and tv shows filmed on location there.

On Monday night while many dogs attended the Westminster Dog Show on the east coast, one 10 year old Jack Russell was barking his acceptance speech for an equally high honor on the west coast. 10 year old, Uggie, received the Golden Collar Award (sponsored by Dog News Daily) for best in film, not best in show, for his work on the silent movie, “The Artist.”

For those hoping to see Uggie strut the Oscar red carpet next week, it will not be happening. Sadly, even though Uggie did walk the red carpet at the Golden Globes, it’s No Dogs Allowed on the Red Carpet at the Oscars.

But perhaps Joan Rivers might like to consider Uggie as a guest on her show, Fashion Police, that week. We think Uggie would fit right in with Giuliana and Kelly.

Pekingese is Best in Show at Westminster. Last night, a spunky 4 year old dog named Malachy won the covetted title of Best in Show at the 136th Westminster Kennel Club Show held at Madison Square Garden.

Malachy won the toy group the night before. This dog breed is over 2000 years old. And pekingese dogs have won at Westminster now 4 times.

What could be more romantic to a couple of dog lovers who happen to be a couple and who happen to have their dog competing in the Westminster Kennel Club annual Dog Show than to have a wedding at the Dog Show on Valentine’s Day in front of 20,000 or so dog loving fans. Not much.

Enter Debbie Parsons and Brad Slayton from Washington state and dog owners of Major, a Tibetan Mastiff, who will be competing for top dog honors at the Westminster dog show on February 14, 2012.

Will Major wear a tuxedo? Will Major be the ring bearer? Dog lovers will have to wait to see.

Having your dog be part of your wedding is a big deal and fairly popular among dog owners and this is sure to be a very special wedding for everyone attending the Westminster Dog Show tonite at Madison Square Garden.

The 135th Westminster Dog Show has just begun and will enter 6 new dog breeds into the competition for top dog honors.

They are the Mexico hairless Xoloitzcuintli, the Finnish Lapphund, Norwegian Lundehund, Cesky Terrier, the American English Coonhound and the Entlebucher Mountain Dog.

Last years 2011 new dog breeds were the redbone coonhound, leonberger, boykin spaniel, bluetick coonhound, cane corso, and Icelandic sheepdog.

The 135th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show will take place in New York City at Madison Square Garden on February 13-14, 2012 and will include 2,000 dogs pawing for Best in Show honors.

That’s a decreased cap on the number of entries as it has been 2,500 since 1982. There are currently 185 dog breeds eligible for the competition. 40 dog breeds have been added to the show in the past 23 years.

And dog-gone it, the Westminster Dog Show dates back to 1877. We love it!
